Artisits, Intellectuals And Imbeciles

UNCOMFORTABLE QUESTIONS FOR COMFORTABLE JEWS RABBI MEIR KAHANE

 1987

ARTISTS, INTELLECTUALS AND IMBECILES (Excerpts)

The Arab universities grow and grow.  These are the monsters that Israel allows to be created under its own nose.  These are the ones who will lead the terrorists and the “Palestinians” in violent clashes and in revolution against enemies to create a leadership that would urge its people to attack Jews.

But to consider something even more insane – what about the far more serious danger of Israeli Arabs who are being educated daily in the higher universities of Israel? Each and every one of theses students is part of a nucleus of the future revolutionary leadership of a “Palestinian” people inside Israel which will turn the country into a northern Ireland.  Knesset member Muhammad Miari of the Progressive List is openly a supporter of the PLO and an opponent of a Zionist State.  He is a graduate of Hebrew University.  Mahumud Muhareb, then chairman of the Arab Student Committee at Hebrew University and an Israeli citizen of Lydda, told Maariv (January 20, 1978):

“As for me and my personal lot, I am first and foremost a Palestinian, a resident of Lydda.  My Israeli citizenship was forced upon me.  The law required me to carry an Israeli identity and passport.  As a Palestinian, I would prefer Palestinian card and passport.  With the final solution common to the Arab of Palestine and Judea, Lydda will be within the sovereign boundaries of a democratic state.  What will that state be called?

Palestine naturally….

“We do not recognize the right, which you call ‘historic’ of the Jewish people in this land-this is our fundamental principle. In this land only the Palestinian Arab people have the historic right.”

Mahumud was able to study at Hebrew University thanks to Jewish madmen.  Including those Jews who so happily contribute to the school and all the others-Tel Aviv University, Ben-Gurion University, Haifa University.  At the latter, the Arab students published a paper called Bian, which said, among other things:

“We are an indivisible part of the Arab Palestine people and the PLO is our sole legal representative…Zionism is a racist colonialist movement.”

For who enjoy giving money to “Israel” to help the “Jewish State,” take pride in knowing that of the 37 graduates majoring in Chemistry in the Spring of 1984, at Hebrew University, you helped no fewer than 17 Arabs to go to degrees and expertise.  What will they do with it?  What could an expert in chemistry do?

Priime Minister Peres in the Knesset boasted of the progress made by Israeli Arabs under their friendly and benevolent Jewish democrats.  Whereas Israel in 1948 saw an Arab population that was abysmally illiterate, today, said Peres, thee are some 4,000 Arabs studying in the universities of the Jewish state.  Indeed, another such “accomplishment” for Israel and we are undone.

But, of course, it will continue, and the growing education of the Arab will not only give him the weapon of knowledge but will create a qualitatively different Arab, totally unlike his pliant fathers.  And so, when Yediot Aharonot (March 25, 1986) writes that since 1970 the number of Arab academicians has grown by five times and that the number of Arab high school graduates is now ten times that which it was fifteen years ago, one begins to understand the full extent of the bloody uprising that Israel will see in the near future.

Is there no one who feels that for an Arab to be privileged to receive higher education in the Jewish state he should at least be compelled, as a condition of admission, to state his allegiance to and accept of Israel as the Jewish State? Is that too much to ask before giving Jewish funds-so much of it raised from naïve western Jews in the Exile-to Arabs who can use their education to work for Israel’s destruction?  Are there not tens of thousands of poor Israeli Jews-mostly Sephardic-who would dearly love to get the education and room and board that the Israeli Arabs, who hate Israel, are now receiving?  Madness, Jewish madness.

And yet, even this aspect of lunacy cannot quite match another area of Israeli cuckooland.  It would stand to reason that the purpose of Jewish schools in the Jewish state is to encourage love and faith and pride in Jewishness and Israel.  Surely, that is not too far-fetched an assumption, even in these days of madness. And so it becomes difficult for even a jaded watcher of Jewish cuckooland to understand the decision by liberal, progressive, all-tolerant Ministry of Education to introduce to Jewish high school students books and stories about Arab authors, all of course anti-Zionist and pro-PLO, in order that the young Jew can see “the other side…”

And so, the high schools of Israel have introduced an anthology of stories by Arab authors called A Place on the Face of the Earth.  The anthology was compiled by the infamous Van Leer Institute. A den of leftist and defeatist Jews, whose major achievement is to undermine Jewish confidence and certainty concerning the justice of the Jewish cause.
Here is one example of a story in the anthology read by Jewish students who are on the verge of entering the army in order to learn how to fight the Arab enemy.  The story is called “ The Land of the Sad Oranges,” and was written by Asan Kanfani born in Acre, Israel, from which he and other Arabs fled during the war that was launched by them to wipe out Israel.  Kanfani was active with the PLO in Lebanon and was killed by a car bomb there in 1972.  In the story he describes the flight of his family from Acre to Lebanon in 1948.  Consider the education of a Jewish high school student on the verge of his three-year military service.  Consider how he will think about the Arabs he is being trained to fight:

“The women went down from the vehicles and walked over to a peasant sitting on the side of the road with a basket of oranges.  My father put out his hand to get an orange.  He looked at it silently and burst into tears like a baby.  In Rosh Hanikra (near the Lebanese border) our car stopped…  In my father’s eyes there shone the memory of all the orange trees that he left for the Jews, all those good and healthy trees that he bought, one by one.  The tears flowed down his cheeks.  When we reached Sidon that evening, we became refugees.”

What possible impression can this leave on the young Israeli who already suffers from ignorance?  An emptiness of soul, a vacuum of ideology.  How can he possibly not feel a sense of injustice, guilt (more!)?  Who will give him the real story?  A Jewish story and truth?  Who will give him the real story?  Who will teach him the reality of Arab attacks, murder and rape against Jews throughout the 1920’s and 30’s and 40’s. The reality of Arab armies and mobs screaming for the throwing of the Jews into the sea as they rejected the very idea of a Jewish State in 1948? Who will tear apart the tissue of Arab lies to tell Jewish youth that the orange groves would have remained along with their Arabs  had  the Arabs not attacked the Jews? Who will tell the Jewish youth that it was a Divine blessing that the Arabs fled and have them consider what would be our fate today had they not?  Madness, madness.

The artists, the intellectuals, the destroyers of the Jewish State.  Those who so desperately need their own private couch; those who drive us to the national one.

The Destruction Of The IDF - 1984

Spring 5744 – 1984

THE DESTRUCTION OF THE I.D.F.

The news that at least 20 Israeli soldiers were sentenced and jailed for refusing to serve in Lebanon and/or the territories, comes on top of the sentencing by a military court of four soldiers for the “crime” of  “excessive force” against the Arab rioters in the territories.  They both emerge in the context of the horrendous Kahan Commission report.  The entire scenario adds up to one of the slow but efficient destruction of the Israeli Defense Forces as an effective and moral force in the defense of Israel against the extermination.

The only weapon our enemies possess to destroy the superior forces of the I.D.F. is the one of internal corrupting of the Jewish soul. The rot of propaganda aimed at questioning the moral and ethical stands of Israel has begun to bear fruit and we are witness to the same inner destruction of the Israeli army and sense of self-confidence in the justice of the Jewish cause, as occurred in the United States over Vietnam.  And that which occurred to the United States – today a paper tiger unable to screw up the courage to take any kind of a military stand that calls for deep sacrifice – slowly builds up in the Jewish State that lost its Judaism, then its Zionism and, today, thanks to the anarchists of the Liberal-Left, its very belief in itself.

When one fights the enemy, let it be clear that the purpose is to destroy him.  The alternative is just as clear:  He will destroy you.  War is not immoral, per se; at times it is a mitzvah, a commandment, hence the Jewish concept of milchemet mitzvah, a war of obligation or commandment.  To destroy evil is a commandment.  To defend Jewish lives is a commandment.  To defend the territory of the Land of Israel is a commandment.  To destroy those who humiliate and desecrate G-d’s name is a commandment.

And not to understand this is to guarantee that we will lose our wars because we have lost our sense of real justice and the righteousness of our cause.  The Kahan Commission is only the latest and worst of the blows but the price is not new.  For years, Israeli soldiers have been held back and punished when attempting to use the only language that rioting Arabs understand.  Tens of Israeli soldiers have died, needlessly, as the result of the gentilized concept of “tohar haneshek” (purity of arms) that forced them to fight without airpower or artillery because civilians were in the area.  Let it be clear; the civilians were enemy civilians.

One can see the handwriting on the crumbling walls.  The gentilization of Israel breeds a lack of faith in its own righteousness.  The IDF will fall victim to all the gentilized conceptual trash that destroyed the U.S.  The lesson is clear.  The real Jewish enemy is the Hellenism within the gates.  Destroy it.

No Illusions Please - 1972

MEIR KAHANE WRITINGS

(5732-33)  (1971-73)

NO ILLUSIONS PLEASE

August 25, 1972

The problem is that time is always on the side of the tenacious; conversely, it is the enemy of the weary.  The never-ending struggle erodes the determination to search for solutions and compromises that are often more the product of the desire to rest than that of common sense.

Those who are tired allow themselves to believe what freshness of vigor would label as nonsense.  Exhaustion and monotony push us into self-delusion We become partners to our own destruction as we fool ourselves into believing that madness is sanity, war is peace, evil is good–all so that we might return to a life of peace and normalcy.

Time is also on the side of the aggressor and works against his intended victim.  For it gradually washes out of our minds the past moment of danger, the time when the aggressor sought to attack, plunder, and destroy.  That moment of awful truth from which the victim was barely saved fades from his memory.  And with the receding of the terrible reality comes arguments cloaked in the peculiar morality that flourishes in the rarefied air of the ivory tower.  With the passing of the danger, as the waves of time roll over the stark monuments to that moment of extinction, we turn away from the men to whom we rushed for safety, the generals and soldiers who exist in the harsh world of reality, and we begin to listen to the unreal academics, whose frustrations and envy of the men of reality are too often mistaken for spiritual and moral loftiness.

Our combination of weariness and forgetfulness turns us away from common sense and into the arms of the denizens of the ivory tower, the demagogues and the opportunists.  It is at moments like this that we throw away sanity and lose the strength that alone can save us, that alone can enable us to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Perhaps it is common to all people, perhaps it is more so with us Jews, the inability to withstand victory.  But regardless of the ultimate roots of the problem, the fact remains that five years after 2.6 million Jews, together with their nineteen-year-old state, were saved from extinction, large and larger numbers of those who were almost slaughtered seek to return again to the moment of truth

Forgotten are the 1967 pronouncements from Cairo, Damascus, Amman, Beirut, Baghdad, and Fatah.  Forgotten are the pledges to throw us into the sea, wash Tel Aviv clean with Jewish blood, and eliminate the “gangster state” of Israel. Forgotten are the insanity of borders that left the coastal strip with its million Jews under the guns of Arab armies just twelve, thirteen, or fifteen kilometers away.  Forgotten are the shells that swept into Masaryk Square in Tel Aviv and the Egyptian planes just minutes away from the heartland.  Forgotten are our own projections of tens of thousands of soldiers, and perhaps fifty thousand civilians, dead.  Forgotten are the borders that left settlements on the Huleh Plain lying naked beneath the Golan Syrian guns, the hills of Ephraim dominating Tel Aviv and its sister cities, the Sinai with its Egyptian land armada within spitting distance of our cities.  But forgotten most of all are the hate, the bitter enmity, the solemn pledges of extermination, the schoolbooks with their poisonous venom, the glee and ecstasy of the days of May and early June 1967 when the mobs and potential murderers and rapists were lashing about in an agony of anticipation of the great jihad, the “holy war” that was about to begin.  Forgotten is the reality of Arab refusal to recognize a State of Israel that is even one dunam square.  Forgotten is the never-changing reality of  “Hebronism”?

What is “Hebronism”?  It is the Arab policy of extermination of the Jew who seeks to live in his own land.  It is the reality of that August day of 1929 that saw men, women, and children slaughtered in the streets, homes, and shops of Jewish Hebron.  It is the reality of the rape and torture and gouging to death, not of “Zionists,” but of yeshiva students and their families, of Ashkenazim and also of Sephardim (the latter who have suddenly become “Jewish Arabs” in the propaganda of Fatah).  It is the pogroms of 1920.1921.1936-39, and 1947.  In short, “Hebronism” is that policy of Arab treatment of Jews that would be the rule for us every day of the week could our enemies only accomplish it.  Should we be so insane as to listen to the “doves” among us who would let them do just that?

We are inundated with all kinds of illusions and delusions.  Let us return this land or that land and we will have blessed peace.  Let us not dare to settle Jews in Eretz Yisroel lest it anger the Arabs and jeopardize blessed peace.  Let us make partial and semi partial and total and semi total agreements that call for compromise and we shall have blessed peace.  Let us not move Arabs from the borders and settle Jews there; let us not dare to bomb terrorists lest we hit innocent civilians; let us be “better than they are”- and thus gain blessed peace.  Let us recognize the existence of a “Palestine people” despite the refusal of every other Arab country to do so, at a time when they might at last have set up a partial “Palestine” state after 1947.  Let us negotiate with our friends the mayors of Gaza and Shehem and Hebron, for they are the solution to the problem of peace.  Let us, perhaps, even consider a binational state for the sake of blessed peace.  Let us realize that we can reach peace and brotherhood with the Arabs by political concessions and compromises.

It is time for the Jew in Israel to throw away those negative attitudes that he retains from the Galut, the exile.  Chief among these is an unwillingness to look at bitter reality.  We may not enjoy hearing it, but the truth is that for many years at least there will not be a sincere de jure peace with the Arabs.  It may affect the tender souls of the more spiritually intellectual among us, but one can never attain either peace or security by “compromise” with bitter enemies who have no intentions of compromising with you.  Those in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza who do sit down with you because they have no choice, do so only in the hope of getting rid of you as soon as possible.  Our enemy, in the long run, is weariness.  It is against this enemy that we must struggle.  We must gird ourselves with tenacity and determination never to tire of what appears to be a never-ending struggle.  For that is what it may very well become: a struggle for Jewish existence and a Jewish state that will never cease to be a struggle; a realization that between us and the Arabs stands a massive barrier that may never be breached; a determination by two peoples to live in a land that at least one will never compromise on.  There will grow the weariness of having to send our children to the army without stop.  There will grow the weariness of having to leave each year for reserve duty.  There will grow the weariness of terrorist attacks on the borders or at the Lod airport or at the Tel Aviv  bus terminal.  There will, perhaps, again grow the weariness-and the heartbreak-of victims of a new war of attrition.  There will grow the weariness of all this, rising to a crescendo with the frustrating cry: “When will it finally end?”

Only the weak succumb to such frustrations; only the weak surrender to time.  A strong and tenacious people know that there may never be an end to the struggle and the sacrifice.  But, they also look about them and see what their refusal to surrender has accomplished: a state, and today a big one, in much of our Eretz Yisroel; a Jewish state with nearly three million souls and many more to come; the creation of a new and proud Jew. None of these things would have come about had we listened to the intellectual precursors of our modern-day intellectuals and doves.  In the name of “peace” there would be no Jewish state; in the name of “morality” there would be no free Jewish nation.

If we hope to survive in the literal sense of the word, let us not succumb to the siren call of easy answers and the tempting promise of “peace.”  Above all, let us, please, have no illusions.  The Arabs intend to wipe us out; we must be strong enough to stop them.  the Arabs who live with us in Eretz Yisroel, both those who have done so for twenty-five years and those for just five, do not live us and never will-and one cannot blame them.  Let us not play games with them or with ourselves.  We give them civil rights and political freedom, but what Jew will ever agree that they should become a majority?  What Jew will ever agree to allow Arabs to come in on the same terms as Jews do today under the Law of Return?  Israel was formed as a Jewish state.  Arabs may have social, economic, and much political equality but, in the end, it is not their state.  For the individual Arab we offer much, but for the Arab nation, Israel offers nothing.  It is not an Arab state, it is a Jewish state.  It came into being because Jews knew that for them there was no hope in a world that thirsted for their bodies and souls.  It came into being under the realization that neither king nor republican or Marxist had the solution to the Jewish problem.  That in the end it was the words of the rabbis that proved to be eternally true: “It is a law, it is known that Esau hates Jacob.”

And so, Eretz Yisroel, the land of the Jewish people, exists.  It can never be anything but that and both we and the Arabs know it.  Such a fact allows for few illusions over peace.  Perhaps peace will come some day; I for one, doubt it.  Until it does, let us not listen to the illusions that float down to us daily from the ivory tower or from the self-hating Left.  Strength and tenacity-they and they alone assure Jewish survival.

There Are No Moderates - 1989

K A H A N E
The magazine of the authentic Jewish Idea

Israel – There Are No Moderates (excerpts)

“Moderates.” “Moderates.” There are no Arab moderates. There are only clever Arabs and stupid ones. The stupid ones say exactly what they mean: eliminate Israel. The clever ones (and more and more are becoming so) mean exactly the same thing but they are clever. After defeats in four wars and numerous clashes they have learned the secret: say nice, moderate things to guilt-ridden Jews, and they will love you. They will throw money at you. And the Sinai. And hopefully, the “occupied lands”…

There are no Arab moderates. And one salutes in awe the ability of Arafat [today it is Abbas} the arch-murderer, to persuade the Jews of lemmingism of his “change of heart,” of his “moderation.” He must surely be a candidate for the Nobel Prize for not laughing, for not rolling on the floor in hysteria.

He has renounced “terrorism?” Of course, but he firmly maintains that to attack the Zionists who “occupy his country” is not terrorism, but rather a war of national liberation. He accepts UN resolutions 242 and 338? To be sure, but within the context of all the UN resolutions on “Palestine,” including resolution 181, the one that the “poor Palestinians” rejected in 1947, the one that originally established a Jewish State. Today, Arafat accepts it. He is good. Having been humiliated militarily he accepts it, knowing that it would bring the Jews back to the boundaries of 1947. He accepts all the UN resolutions, including the ones calling for Israel to allow the “refugees” to return to their homes in Israel if they desire to. All the “refugees” who were part of the “poor Palestinians” who attempted to wipe out Israel in 1948. Today, thanks to the 40 years of birth, there are more than two million of them.

He has recognized the existence of Israel. True. Much in the same way that we all recognize the existence of earthquakes, disease and roaches. Of course we recognize them, because they exist. We recognize their existence in order to put an end to their existence. So too with Arafat. He recognizes Israeli existence…

Arafat; the PLO; the “Palestinians:” the Arab states. Models of deceit and deception, paragons of duplicity and perfidy. Hands of blood and tongues of pretense. They plan new a Holocaust as they speak peace.

No, there are no Arab “moderates.” They are liars who cannot live together with themselves, let alone Israel. They all believe that the Jewish State of Israel is a bandit, settler state, that has stolen “Palestine” from them. And because of that, and with deep sadness, one knows that there will be no peace. And let none of the comfortable denizens of Peace Now in Beverly Hills or the woodpeckers of Hollywood or the pompous pulpiteers of Reform liberal temples screech in indignation. Kahane does not want peace! Kahane does not want peace? Where do I live and where do they live? I, who live in Israel and serve in its army and whose children serve in the army, desire peace a great deal more than the shallow liberals and leftists of Peace Now and those paragons of Reform shallowness, Alexander Schindler and Balfour Brickner, who regularly trumpet declarations of suicide through Peace.

There will be no peace because the “poor Palestinians” do not wish peace. They wish “Palestine”. All of it. And that includes Israel. So let us not delude ourselves and let us not believe in delusions. The great Rebbe of Kutzk once said: “It is a sin to deceive one’s neighbor. It is a crime to deceive oneself.”

Wishing peace, yearning for peace does not mandate committing suicide for peace. And for all those who cry that Israel has been fighting for 40 years, let it be stated flatly that the Jewish people have been fighting for 4,000 years and had our forefathers been as depressed as some of their present day children, we would have been long since gone as a people.

Cease the weeping and wailing! We have a state of our own and it can be a glorious one and let us give thanks to the Almighty for it. And let us understand clearly that a state is not given on a silver platter; neither is it won by writing a check. A state is a precious thing that is won by sacrifice and blood, and if there are those who are not prepared for this, let them walk away and leave it to those who are – unafraid, who have both faith in G-d and the willingness to climb the ramparts in battle.

We are weary? We are weary of having to serve in the army each year to defend our state? How much would a Jew in Auschwitz have given for the opportunity to see a Jewish army, a Jewish tank, a Jewish plane – and with what joy he would have agreed to serve each year in a Jewish army of a Jewish State, created so as to help guarantee that never again will there be an Auschwitz for its Jewish citizens!

Peace? Of course we want peace. Who does not want peace? It is not the monopoly of the guilt-ridden and self-hating hypocrites, the artists and intellectuals (sic) of the left. We all wish peace; we all fervently pray for peace. We all look for the day when the nations shall beat their swords into ploughshares. But, meanwhile, as they continue to have swords with which to destroy us, let us not be so mad as to wave ploughshares.

Give up land. For “peace” that the “poor Palestinian” is prepared to grant us? The ultimate peace of the dead? Are we mad? The ones who launched four wars of aggression against Israel and lost for wars of aggression, dictate terms to us? The ones who launched four wars of aggression and a thousand terrorist attacks, who slew thousands of Jews, and who lost – now present us with demands? They insist that we, who won, give up land? Let the Arab aggressors and murderers learn a very basic rule of life: Losers lose. Winners win. Losers and especially losers who launched wars of murderous aggression, do not dictate terms. Aggression is not a game in which one attempts to wipe out innocent people, loses and then returns to “Go”. No, aggression is a gamble and if the aggressor loses – let him know the full bitterness of his reality – that he has lost. Then, perhaps, he will think deeply and carefully before embarking on another adventure. For let the “poor Palestinian” know in every fiber of his body, that he had best leave well enough alone. Let him accept a peace that will see him establish a state of his own in Jordan, if he can do it. For should he be so foolish as to begin another murderous war of aggression, let him be certain that that which he still possess in Jordan will be ours too.

Land for peace? By all means. The Jews who were the victims of countless efforts to destroy them and who are the rightful owners, will keep the land and be prepared to graciously give the murderous Arabs, peace.

And above all, no guilt! What causes a Jewish people that has suffered thousands of dead and tens of thousands of wounded and maimed at the hands of the Arabs, fail to understand that they are a cruel and implacable enemy, bent on destroying Israel and decimating the Jews? What causes Jews who see the brutality and treachery and viciousness with which Arabs massacre each other, refuse to see what our fate would be if we would be so mad as to give them the slightest opportunity to do to us what they dream to do to us? Above all, what makes a Jewish people that has only one land and has returned to that land, to feel guilty over it and to accept the myth of a “Palestine” and a “Palestinian people?”

There is no Palestinian people and there is no Palestine! There is not, there never was, and please G-d there will never be.
